Odontium talks to the X-ray equipment you already have. The patient is ready on the device, the image lands on the right record by itself, and you view, measure and compare it without switching programs.
Every workstation gets its own integrations: the sensor in surgery 1, the panoramic unit in the hallway. There are three ways to connect, and for each device we pick the best one together with you.
Odontium passes on the patient, starts the exposure and gets the image back itself.
Odontium is a DICOM node itself: with a worklist, receiving, and retrieval from an archive.
One click opens the patient in the imaging program you already use. The image comes back through DICOM or an export folder.
A list of integrations per workstation, each one switched on or off.
A test button that tells you at once whether the program answers.
A DICOM receiver that only lets in devices you know.
A log of every integration, for when something does not arrive.
An appointment with an X-ray reason puts the patient on the device's worklist.
Or you start it from the record with New, and choose the type and the teeth.
The image only goes onto a record when number, name and date of birth match.
In the X-ray box on the dentist's, hygienist's and orthodontist's record.
When Odontium is in doubt, it sets the image aside in "Unassigned", with what the image itself says about the patient. There you assign it, or discard it with a reason that is kept.
An exposure is saved on the workstation first, so none gets lost.
The X-ray service receives images, even when Odontium is closed.
The original in 16 bit or DICOM is kept next to a preview.
Double-click an image on the record and it opens in TSE X-ray, at full quality. No second program, no looking up the patient twice.
Window/level, brightness, contrast and gamma, sharpening, noise reduction, inversion and pseudocolour. With presets for caries, bone and soft tissue.
Length and angle on the image, in millimetres once the image is calibrated.
Two images side by side or over time, and digital subtraction to make the difference visible.
Histogram, a density profile along a line and a technical check of the exposure itself.
Every image on the right teeth (FDI), and a full-mouth series in a mount that checks left and right.
Every adjustment is a view. The original image, in 16 bit or DICOM, is never overwritten.
A CBCT scan opens in three planes at once, with a crosshair that moves them together, and as a 3D image you can rotate and cut through.
Axial, coronal and sagittal side by side.
3D as a bone surface, MIP or volume, with clipping planes.
Measure length and angle in the image.
Simply view a DICOM CD from the oral surgeon or the hospital.
Place the landmarks on the lateral ceph, and Odontium works out the angles and distances and sets them against the norms for the patient's age.
Steiner and Ricketts analysis.
A ruler on the image for measurements in millimetres.
Deviations from the norm visible at once, and ready to print.
Almost certainly. Odontium connects directly to the most widely used programs, speaks DICOM with any device that does too, and for the rest can open the patient in your own program or read an export folder. Tell us your device and program, and we will tell you which route it takes.
It never just lands on a record. If the patient number, name or date of birth does not match, the image waits in "Unassigned", with what the image itself said about the patient. There you assign it, or discard it with a reason.
Yes. The X-ray service receives DICOM images in the background and has them ready, even when nobody has Odontium open.
Yes. Loose DICOM files from a CD or USB stick simply open in Odontium, a CBCT scan included.
No, and that is a deliberate choice. Software that points out caries or pathology is a medical device with its own certification. Odontium helps you look, measure and compare; the diagnosis stays with you.
Tell us which X-ray equipment you have. In a demo we show how an image gets from the chair onto the record.
